Garth House is a spacious
farmhouse situated in the centre of a country village with a
large garden and plenty of space for children to play in. A swing,
climbing frame and robust toys are available for their use. A
Baby Sitting Service is available if required.
The farm is a working
small holding with cattle pigs,sheep, horses, hens as well as
family pets.
A good English breakfast
is provided in the morning and tea and coffee are available on
arrival and before retiring to bed if desired.

The Dining Room
and Sitting Room which is available to guests is equipped with
a television and comfortable chairs.
In the winter months an open fires adds warmth to the room although
there is full central heating throughout.

The Landing provides
access to the bedrooms.

The cosy Family Room
overlooks the paddock and offers a comfortable double bed and
two tier bunks for two children.
A vanity unit is located in one corner of the room for your convenience.

The Double Bedroom which
has a wash hand-basin and a dressing table, provides comfortable
accommodation and overlooks the front lawn of the farmhouse.

and shower room, both fitted out with full toilet facilities,
available for guests towards the end of the landing and just
few steps away from each bedroom.

GENERAL INFORMATION
There are many places
of interest in the area which can be reached by car in less than
half an hour. York, Harrogate, Helmsley, Sutton Bank, The White
Horse, Fountains Abbey and a number of stately homes to name
but a few.
The market town of Thirsk
is only 15 minutes away where James Herriot (author of the famous
vetinary stories) had his practice. The theme park and outlet
centres at Lightwater Valley is close by where a family can enjoy
a full day out.
The beautiful scenery
of The North Yorkshire Moors is also within easy reach and there
are plenty of delightful Pubs and Inns round and about for eating
out. (Barbara will be delighted to give guests advice on where
to go and what you might be expected to pay for a meal)
For the more sporting
types, there are a number of racecourses in the area, game and
course fishing is available as well as a wide choice of golf
courses. There is also a badminton court available for hire in
the village.
